What You Need to Know About the Levo Difference

You may have heard before that credit unions are better for managing your money than banks, but you may not know why. In order to show the value in putting your money with a community credit union, we wanted to demonstrate the Levo Credit Union difference.

Read on to learn why a credit union like Levo is the right choice for you.

Why a Credit Union?

Member-Owned

When you work with a credit union, you’re not working with a big bank that’s only interested in working with high-income businesses. At a credit union, you’re an owner, which means your financial institution isn’t trying to shake every last dollar out of your pockets in order to drive profits. Instead, it’s trying to provide you with the helpful, low-cost member service you should expect as an owner.

Members First

As a member-owner, you can also count on more manageable fee structures when it comes to managing your money. This can include overdraft forgiveness, higher tolerance of low credit scores and minimized excess expenses.

Lower Fees

Speaking of fees, at a traditional bank, it seems as though there is a fee for everything. This is not the case with credit unions. Credit union fees tend to be few and far between, and the fees you do have to pay are usually lower than what you would see at a traditional bank and rewarded with top-notch service.

Better Interest Rates

Because credit unions have a lower emphasis on profits and a higher emphasis on member satisfaction, you can typically expect to see more competitive interest rates on loans. At Levo, we are able to do this by limiting our operating expenses.

Special Offers to Members

As a credit union, we look out for ways that will not only help our members but also provide better offers that will save them money.

  • Better Rewards Visa® Credit Card – Double Points: In 2019, you’ll receive DOUBLE POINTS on your Better Rewards Visa® Credit Card on your most common purchases: Gas, grocery and wholesale clubs! Redeem your points for cash, gift cards or even travel. This is just one of many ways we look out for our members.

What Makes Levo Different?

Here are just a few of the ways that we set ourselves apart—a little something we like to call “The Levo Difference.”

Giving Back

Giving back is part of our mission and values and there are multiple ways we do this.

Dividends

We pay our members dividends monthly on their money, but you might’ve heard the buzz recently—Levo gave out an additional $1,000,000 in bonus dividends… for a second time! As our member, we greatly value your business—which is why, when we succeed, you succeed! You could say it pays to Levo

Community Support

All year, we raise money for different local non-profit organizations through providing our very own blend of “Perky” coffee as well as “Big Frig” mugs. For a suggested minimum donation of $10 per bag of coffee and/or $20 per 20 oz mug, 100% of the proceeds go to the chosen charity.

Scholarships

Investing in our young adults is important to us.  Each year, we award two high school seniors or college students $1,000 scholarships towards their education.

Adopt A Classroom

Behind every successful student is one or more teachers that went above and beyond.  Our Adopt A Classroom grants recognize six teachers each year with a $500 grant to help cover out-of-pocket expenses.

President’s Bowl Sponsorship

For over 5 years, we’ve provided free high school specific collectible fan gear to students and spectators.

VTO (Volunteer Time Off)

Each full time employee at Levo receives 12 hours of volunteer time to be used during any work day. In 2018, we gave a total of 362 hours back into our community through organizations like, Good Samaritan, Avera Prince of Peace, Salvation Army, Comfort Keepers, Junior Achievement and more

Picking a financial institution can be a difficult decision, but it’s important to pick one that’s always looking out for your best interests. At Levo, we’re by your side through every step of your financial journey—no matter what your situation is.
